D Commanders camp at Digi’s D House was the most fun place to be last week……
It started with the journey all the way from the forest nowhere in Perak at UTP to Shah ALam.
My uni frens included Jason, jia haur, Ernina and Hanum…
We were waiting for the bus outside the uni
8am
in d morning
Waiting and waiting and waiting….
Wishing that we din miss any bus. Or else will be stranded
in
Ipoh with the RM100 bus ticket burned….
We managed to get to Gopeng in time and go to batu tiga
It was an exciting and one in a life time experience like Charlie and the chocolate factory…

well many things happened for the past few months
of course the main thing that happened is I changed my course from ee to Pe.
I felt really great coz finally I have decided which course to study
For the past few months I really learn to be independent.
Doing most of the work fast and efficiently by my self
there were days where ups and down really are nerve breaking
people who seems to be strong and firm can just suddenly break down and do not know what to do
What more can I do than being a place of comfort and encouragement to people in need.
At least that is what I can help
I feel that many people still lack their own journey to discover and understand themselves better.
What u really want to be?
why do you live in this world?
why you exist? (spiritually and not biologically)
what is ur purpose?
Well, I think I had had enough thinking and soul searching about myself
Though not much bout my Chinese tradition but my belief and religion
Many people are still confused about it
people may be have religion but what do they really understand about being a believer?
At the end of the day, I just praise God for answering my prayer and drawing me closer to the answer about what ever doubt I have
There is always a better day after a hailstorm and look up for the bright sunny day instead of the storm that we are facing now.
We'll learn sth about getting over it
THE MOST IMPORTANT thing is trust and believe in urself
be more confident and get the confidence by always being ready for what so ever problem coming our ways
Lastly, you must have a hope that sth better will happen. Always believe in miracle and wish for the better. Maybe God might just surprise you by answering ur questions and doubts. keep your finger cross and always believe that sth better will happen.
I got my shock of a life time when I first visit Cameron Highlands. I was looking for garbage bin and I asked the stall owner where is the rubbish bin or she has one.
What she replied me is just throw on the ground because there isn't any. She say that they pay the municipal council to clean the market everyday.
What kind of society is that. It is better to keep the environment clean than be sorry.
If you go any market or tourist spot in Kch there will always be a rubbish bin prepared for everyone to throw the rubbish. We are used to that already. Really feel like fish out of water that moment. Never expected that to happen at a tourist spot. They expect tourist to step on the dirty rubbish the whole place round the market I guess.
The same situation also applies to KL. There is just not enough rubbish bins prepared for pedestrians to dispose of rubbish. The ministers in malaysia must be expecting us to throw rubbish when we go visit their house during open house since that is the message and attitude that they want to instill among the people for being so negligence towards to problem. I feel like I'm being degraded to being ask to throw rubbish anywhere like a barbarian when I'm not. That is the feeling of all tourist. Same also happen when our local house wifes had to face the music of local authority overseas for not sorting their rubbish for recycling.
That is the problem with malaysia. people are being more rude and heartless towards the environment. What more to say about the rudeness of the people socializing?
Another problem with malaysia is the lack of accountability and responsibility of the people. A particular minister always get away with his mistake of incapability to handle his own department that all the infrastructure just get BOCOR or spoil. When asked for commend he will always blame others. What we really need to hear is that IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN AND IF IT HAPPENS IT WILL BE THE END OF MY CAREER. Do you understand that!
Last week there was a Japanese minister who committed suicide even though his case is still under prob. This is what we need in a minister. Ready to sacrifice everything for the people. Well, this particular minister can only talk like a jack ass and there is nothing done at the end of the day. He claims to be an architect, I guess the certificate was bough just like others who wanted to cover up their past of illiteracy which is clearly seen from his communication skill which fare worst than a 5 year old child living on a dump site with his broken Bahasa MALAYSIA and ENGLISH used at wet market. How degrading it is to other malaysian to be motivated to be a jack ass like him to be strong and almighty all this while with out much hard work. That is our very own MALAYSIAN DREAM. I think.
Shopping complexes should be free from the horrible smell of smokes that chokes the visitors as if there is not enough supply of oxygen for everyone. I always have the most terrible shopping experience in KL. Though the bargains are better than Kuching, but at least I do not have to put up with the third world mentality of (some)KLites. Places like Sungei Wang and Low Yatt topped the list of the most suffocating shopping complexes in KL or probably the world. Imagine that people are free to smoke without any consideration of others.
A facts for smokers to know is that 75% of your smoke is exhaled and those non smokers or passive smokers had to smoke it. WHY DRAG OTHERS TO YOUR GRAVE IF YOU WANT TO D..I...E... .
I would like to recall that when the government started the rule that all air conditioned building are no smoking zone, Kuching people who smoke in those shopping complexes are slapped with summon worth RM100 when caught red handed for smoking. Nowadays security officers and police are still allow to summon those people. That was a talk of the city that time. After more than 3 or 4 years of such rule people in KL have no problem to continue with their terrible mentality. What is rather shocking is that it is the capital of Malaysia and the police force in KL is more than ten fold of Kuching. But it is a city of NO LAW. What a disgrace to others to know about it.
No wonder that Readers Digest ranks KLites among the worst uncivilized people in this region. Wah KL people kiu tou fo.
What to do if people still behave in such a way.
Well, I'm proud to stay in Kuching. The 7th most cleanest city in the World. How about KL?
Dunno bo . Go check out in UN website to find out!
People here may be more conservative in terms of open relationship between the opposite sexes but we are among the polite and sincere people.
For your information, Kuching is about the size of selangor. SO very big rite.
Our house starting price for a double storey house is around RM 275 thousands. That is the cheapest bargain. Depends on demand.
Since so much money spend on house no more money to buy luxury cars like mercedez, toyota, GM, volkswagen, audi, bmw, Lexus or many more expensive car. That is how perodua and protons' car survive all these while as the slaves only afford to buy such low quality and cheap vehicles which eventually kill them as they use their own technology for safety that is the cars absorb the momentum of a crash unlike all european cars that uses other technology to divert the impact of the crash. One word to describe all, JUST TO KILL THE USERS.
Lately I was watching a Singaporean series entitle house of joy. though it may be a quite old movie to some. But I feel that it really have thought me a lot about myself.
It is typical that people are really Kiasu and si ai bin or afraid to lose and thick skinned. It is true that we all always to into account what others think about us. This makes us lose our own self because our minds are controlled by our heart to save our skin and try to get the sense of belonging to a certain group of friends. This makes me feel that what one really need to do is try to be who we really are but be open to all form of criticism be it how we dress or look, and how is our behavior. For me I think the most important thing to look at when others criticize is out attitude and behavior.
Believe it or not, I'm still a more to eastern culture though I may be liberal in my actions. There is just a line that defines my actions and that line is our Asian culture and believe that draws my line of liberalization especially in relationship. I believe in the a true love where everything is perfect and the spouse is the most suitable couple. There will only be a woman to complete a man. And that person must understand and share the same interest and instinct. That is only when one can be really who they are because most couple have to give and end up losing who they are. I believe in an equal share of burden in a family where the husband and wife are equally involved in raising up the children and running the house errants. I read about husbands taking a paternity leave for a half year in Europe to help the wife in taking care of their babies. That is the true sense of family. Both parents cooperate and shower their children with all the love and attention that they need.
Next is the problem of si ai bin. Believe it or not that people are easily intimidated when others have something better than them. some case as earlier on. People are too conscious about what type of job they are doing and the house they are living in. Though sometime I felt so, but I realized that all of those does not matter. what really ,matter is who and what we are. One may own the whole world but do not enjoy at all. Though I always wanted a bigger room and spacious room, on the bright side, it is troublesome for me to keep it spick and span all the time. Furthermore, I can save the forest from being cut down if I learn to give up some space for it. But one must really be sure that one can really afford to pay all the price for a big house if one really wants to live in one. For me, why live in an expensive, luxurious, and high maintenance house when one can live in a simple one. After all, I'm not at home all the time!
What is wrong to be a hawker? DO you know kolo mee seller can easily chalk up RM2000 per month. That is more than enough to live on as far as I'm concern if u stay in Kuching. Though more is better. BUt we can just take up other part time jpb like be an assistant at sunday market. Mind you that I did that job for I think around half year when I was younger. There is nothing wrong to go out to work in a market. At least I get the persuasion techniques and street smart.
I actually gone through a lot up and downs in my own life especially when I was a shop assistant for a month. It was a reality check on me when things seems to be more complicated than it seems. Well I learned my lesson that is to be careful when meeting stranger especially at work place because look can be deceiving. The feeling of being back stab and the enduring pain that one has to suffer.
WHAT IS WRONG WITH HUMANITY? I mean people do not mean what they say. Basically there are few kind of people irrespective of races.
1) Those who like to say something that even they themselves do not know (do not believe in a single word they say or place a high hope on such person or feel the feeling of betrayal when that person do not do what they promise)
2) Those who are easily influence by others opinion of who and what they are (very confused mind and very emotional when people say something about them- learn to listen more to such person as mostly such girls needs a listening partner than one who ask them what they should do)
3) Those who keep to their word ( do not misuse such person as such kind hearted person always places others priority before their own)
4) Those who like to back stab and very good at acting ( such type of person are very sly and like to use others for their advantage at the expense of others)
5) Those who are very good at persuasion ( suitable for marketing but have attitude problem especially when misuse it)
6) very strong person mentally - able to face all the challenges
7) prince charming type of person- only have good look but when the true test come he will flee right away for fear of losing his image
most of the time its a combination of a few in a person that makes human dinamic
Gawai is one of the biggest event evry year in sarawak. For me it is the one of the big three event each year. Besides Chinese New Year and Christmas, I like to enjoy Gawai. Well here in sarawak, the races are rather balance with majority dayak then followed by chinese and Malays.
Normally I will go visit my friends during gawai. There are many food like tradisional chicken in bamboo, lemang using the hill paddy, tuak and others. but lately there isn't much of those tradisional food prepared as it takes time to prepare and youngsters normally go back to their kampung on the nite of gawai after celebrating at their home in the city during the first day with friends and collegues and relatives. It used to be an "octoberfest" version of sarawak. where everyone will drinks tuak from one house to another until finish visiting all the houses in the village. The "Tuak" is rice wine where they will make it using their family recipe. Some are sweet as it is made using sugarcane. A good tuak is one that is crystal clear with white yellowish colour. Some of it is very hot as many gingers are used to make it too. But I never tried one using pepper. Should be nice considering the famous sarawak pepper.
Every Gawai used to be the most happy moments where the pigs rared will be killed for night barbeque. mostly baby pigs are used. very juicy depending on the fatness of the piglet. the skin is cryspy like the barbeque pork found in shops. The piglet will also be used to cook traditional cook. The pork leg is delicious when cook with black pepper. really delicious.
Besides that, what makes this festival fun is the nature of the villages as it is located far from the hussle and bustle of city live. The kampung chicken and its chicks are free to roam everywhere, the cat of the house as well as the dog. that is the benefit of rural life vs city life.
Besides that, the youngsters will be opening illegal gambling "hollocim" the game consist of images of animals like crab, chicken, and others. I can't really recall because I'm not interested with it.
In addition, there will be a ceremony to offer sacrifices to the God of rice or sth else. The witch doctors will dress in their traditional clothes and start dancing the ghost possesing dance. Imagine watching old lady dancing like a young 18 year girl at dicso. making circles around the offering place. Offering include chicken, rice, some unidentified herbs and others that I'm so sure of. But these days there is no longer any of such offering as the witch doctors died and younger generations are mostly christians who do not pratice the culture of pagans. SO very difficult to find such occasions.
At night there will be a karaoke with youths dancing and singing all night. its like a mini disco. One more thing about gawai that I can remember is that there is a community hall where their forefathers whom were head hunters will hung their
Too bad I accidentally erased all the pictures that I took during my trip to kampung Opah in Bau area. Last time, the whole kuching will be heading to this village during gawai time as they celebrate about a week or two after the official 1st june date. Hundreds of car will be queuing to go in the kampung. about an hour queue just to get in and out from the bridge at the entrance of the village. those are the days that I missed most. thats why I woul fork out extra RM313 for my air ticket to get back early to celebrate it. Its like chinese celebrating chinese new year. Well, I learnt my lesson form previous gawai by not drinking too many until I was drunk and my whole body itch the next few days with terrible headache. Just one more tip, don't walk near a drunk man as that is the norm here where fight starts in the kampung. Normally a drunk person will not admit and will say silly things and look very blur or keep on laughing to themselves with no reason when they are high. These are the signs to look up for if a person is drunk. Welcome to alcoholic gawai sarawak a place to forget all the problems and troubles that one is facing in reality.
happy GAWAI GURU GERAI NYAMAI
Last thursday was my record breaking continuous class for 12 hours from 8 am to 7pm. Really restless and nothing can be expresed as it is d end of such routine for this sem and live to tell the tale of my experince that nothing is not possible. Though I first enrolled for the subject, I couldn't believe what I was thinking. It was surely a long difficult thursdays for the past few months. Thrust me.
Especially when only got few minutes to eat lunch until dinner time at 7pm. Always feeling sleepy with many works to do especially having my chem lab on that day.I had to skip lunch to finish my report coz hav to pass up by 4pm that day. and also got homework for engineering maths and cehmistry to do before hand. Wah really can't believe that I survive that ordeal.
But the best part is I got to have only afternoon class on every wednesday. can sleep late. Only 3 hours lectures. Really worth it.
C 1st whether to continue with such routine next sem coz I heard that it takes a day for a lab session. Wah really tiring whole day in lab by then. Well live have to go on.
Really feeling more destress after a whole terrible month of April.Everything went wrong including all the test where I screw up and also all the competitions I join seems not to work out although I was a heavy weight in such events. Really feeling Paiseh. Bo bin to hide. Everyone was expecting me to win big I lose out easily. WHat a month.
Now I found my remedy that is to GOD. I just have more conversation with GOD as frequent as possible as my cell group discuss bout it this week. Really feel like got a new best FREN. WEll no best frens like back in high school.
Things was easy and not complicated like now. Have to grow up from my comfort zone. Break free from my egoness of scoring straight As. Now I feel that I have to close the page and start a new one. Life is challenge in it self each day with all the problem that we face. I feel that I am easily influenced by others because I want to feel that I belong to them. Want to find a new Best frens.
Keep that for next time. what I sould be focussing rite now is to study hard and be the optimistic and be the hard working charles I used to be. Never give up and take every failure in its stride to improve myself.
Not forgetting my trip to cameron high lands. I really thank my sis coz thta trip was really making me feeling better from the terrible month that I had. I really enjoyed tha cold wheather that I used to have back in Kch. Now I go again comparing with Tronoh again. I get rather grumpy these days thanks to the hot weather. At least 33 celcius everyday.
ALso I had done the most terrible thing for my drama by dressing as a hot sexy girl in mei Fang's short skirt and my tigh shirt. They all say I look like a girl except I ack the boops. I wouldn't dare to wear any bra. That would be very awful for my life record to continue on......
Got a picture of my drama group for you to judge.
Have a fun time laughing all that U all !!!!!!!!
Enjoy....

the whole week seems to be against me
I din get a double promotion for my taekwondo gredding coz I wasn't at my best. get nervous and did silly mistakes. SO sad ahhh
Sat public speaking competition was another bad day. Had to go to penang all the way. Yet when I'm there, I do not feel like I want to be there. I just lose my interest and son feel like going for it. But at least I get to understnad more bout it and I promise to correct my mistakes. Next year I shall correct it all.
Mon, The chem quiz was tought. The lecturer really get on my nerves. He say test electrochem but he came up with the prevoius chapter. SO I D I E.
and ofcourse I lose the rector cup debate. SO sad. I din prepare for the Iraq topic. Next time I will make all dealing for deciding topics. Thats all I got to say before others come up with their philosophy.
Ohya of course it all started back with my scholars money being suspended. Like no life. No money to buy this or that. Really like pengemis. Never experienced that before. Hve to be more prudent with my spending.
Really bad luck. I just pray so that it will ward off.
Last week durin the beginning of the mid sem break, I went down to KL for some events.
The journey down Ipoh was like a de ja vu coz it is raining cats and dogs like the first time when I follow Wei Shin down Ipoh 4 d CNY. Well, Eddy was really having a good sleep while and Wei shin chat
We arrive in Ipoh at 5.45 pm n went to Gopeng to but ticket. Well, we were unlucky coz the 7pm ticket was sold out. 8 pm will be too late but 6.30 pm rather packed but may be we can manage coz Philip hav to go back to bath, eat, and prepare his bags
So we got to his house at 6pm and he run as fast as possible to do everything in time. I also joined him for dinner. Well his dad sent us to gopeng. Lucky it is just 5 minutes drive away. But bad luck again, traffic was terribly jammed. SO we had to get down on the road opposite in the heavy traffic to walk to gopeng.
Things are just in time for us.
When we arrive, the bus was already finishing letting people out and those leaving for KL are starting to get in to the bus. JUst in time for us to get to our seat.
Few minutes later, the bus starts journey.
The journey was terrible with heavy rain. BUt lucky there weren't any traffic jam in NS expressway.
WE arrived there 9pm. the traffic wasn't as heavy as usual. WE walked through Petaling street to pasar seni Putra line Lrt. Well, we reached my aunts house around 9.30pm
WE were hungry, so I thought of bringing philip to the mc d at ampang park. GUess what. At 10pm, we had to wait for a queue to buy food. there were many foreigners. We were really full with the food. RM10 plus for a supper. Usual price in KL. In UTP RM3 very expensive already. Have to feel the real KL life when We go what.
Then We went to KLCC. I kinda lost my way. I took the wrong turnwhile searching for the P Ramlee road. Barney n me been there once. just walked past. Though we were tired, but Philip sure look happy once there. It was like a heaven for him. We walked up and down the street but didn't went into any clubs. kuai chai ma
Well, return back around 1am and slept. Next morning, we were suppose to go for the star public speaking workshop at 7.30 am but we woke up at 8.30 am.
WE just brush teeth and didn't bath or anything else dash for it. Well we arrive at sentral at 9.10 am. Ask the taxi to send us there. The taxi guy oso dun know where. He was chatting on his phone as it was heavily raining outside there. Had to star hq to ask where it was.
Cheh. Just as the tun sambathan stop of monorail. wasted time and money. managed to get there by 9.30 am. had to climb 3 floors of stairs to get to the hall. Registered ourself and things just get started. Just in time again.
Next was when it ends. We were suppose to go and watch Nicol playing in the fianl at 4pm. and the workshop ends at 4pm too. aiya. Too bad jesse can't join us as the show was astounding. marvellous malaysian player.
When we got there, she was behind with 0-6. She sllowly climbed up but lose at 6-9. Then she won 9-6, 9-3, but lose 7-9 we were in a rush to go to the Eye of malaysia at titiwangsa park so had to leave at that time. WEll really relief to hear she won in the make or break round. She really can run very fast. Good stamina. Most important she got a good attitude and behaviour. She almost never shout against the decision of the judge compared to Natalie who was always angry. Final round was really tiring her that she also starts to shout in order to release her burden and stress build up sue to tiredness. WIll always remember it.
Next we got back and start to prepare to go to the lake. Jason poan picked us and brought us to a chinese shop to eat. Quite nice claypot rice. THen we met up with the rest of the friends at the lake. Chin Leong, raymond, han zhe, philip and me rode the ferris wheel. VEry big and tall up there. It turned for 6 rounds. at a high price of RM15 per person. It was a German company technology. Really educational to know that its runs on the principle of rotation of a car tyre. Actually it was the same. Got many tyres and the got a high fiction surface of tar road. Rather shocking to see that one of the tyre is running out of its grip. almost broken already. BUt We had some nice time looking at the view of the lake. Got water show by germans at night. WEll luckily we queue early coz huisan, barney, ranae and sim later had to queue from outside of the hut that we queue. from inside already took 1 hour what more to say bout them!
Well this time we ask the rest to go p ramlee road too. Everyone was too happy that they decided that they must sit down to drink if not they can never say they been there before. Well, money was tight on everyones wallet coz thanks to bcb for upgrading their service that all atm is not functioning. They ordered a jug of beer. I just had 2 sip from philip's one. WEll he was too high that he just gullop it down like water. really fast. soon, the effect start to kick out. some got red face, a bit of losing their mind. talking nonsence and laughing to themselve. Lucky I didn't really drink anything much. But raymond order a bottle of water with added co2 gas for 16 bucks.everyone was making a joke of him. Well at such place sure expensive one la.
Then we walked back to KLCC and went in though it was already closed. Look at the bright night. then walked to mc d to have an ice cream. Next day was really relaxing. we woke up late. My anuts and uncle cooked us a western breakfast. Then we went to the pool for a swim. really feel the luxury of life. then we start to pack up.
I decided to follow the rest coz they were heading to utp straight. I didn't went with philip. I went with them to low yat and time square again. what a life.
well it ended up that I couldn't buy a ticket like theirs. SO I just took a bus straight away to Ipoh. the journey was really fast. in just 2 and half hour. I got a taxi to bring me to medan kit and took a bus back to utp.
